As a church community we reach out in the following ways:

Children & Youth Ministry

• Children’s Message and Children’s Church each Sunday during Worship. The curriculum is based on the scripture being presented for that Sunday.
• Participation during worship; candle lighting, bringing up offering, bringing up communion
• NH Methodist Church Scholarship Fund that is available to graduating seniors from our church.
• Confirmation Class

Evangelism is sharing and inviting everyone to experience the Good News that God loves us and invites us into a transforming relationship through which we are forgiven, receive new life, and are restored to the image of God, which is Love.

We educate and guide others by:

• Personally, inviting people to church.
• Maintaining the Facebook page where our church services are live streamed.
• Developing and maintaining a Webpage.
• Sending out a newsletter twice a month by way of emails and postal mail.
• Sharing our faith through community activities.
• Providing welcome packets for new people in our community.
• Being welcoming, providing emotional and spiritual care to anyone.
• Participating in the Community Event: “This Little Light of Mine” display in the park during Thanksgiving through December.
• Sending out card; get well, birthday, congratulations, etc. cards to members.
• Introducing Pastor Paula to the community in the local newspaper.
• Pastor Paula submitting a written messages in the Church section of the newspaper.

We seek to be a nurturing and serving community by providing for others physical, mental, and spiritual well being.

We do this by:

• Participating in the “Party and Praise Concert at the Park” – Aug. 2024
• Contributing to the Christmas “Giving Tree”
• Hosting a Music Gospel Group – Sept. 2024
• Participating in the Faith & Blue Picnic in the Park – community donations benefiting delinquent school lunch accounts.
• Donating to the Chickasaw County Food Pantry.
• Completion of ∆ 20 health kits  ∆ 40 school kits
• Helping with a Mother, Father and 4 children.
• Working the Northeast Iowa [NEI] Food Bank.
• Volunteering at the Blood Bank
• Collaborated drivers to transport members to dialysis 3 times weekly and doctor appointments.
• Providing worship services at the NH Nursing & Rehab and Linn Haven Rehab and Nursing Center.
• Visiting people that cannot come to church, by providing spiritual and emotional support, by Home Ministry
• Annual Christmas Caroling
• Members ministering in Honduras.
• Ecumenical Christmas Program
• Making weekly home visits to church families.
• Providing an exercise Class “Faith & Fitness” w/prayer and contemporary Christian music.
• Participating in the World Day of Prayer.
• Serving the Ecumenical Advent Lunches
• Serving meals at the Wednesday Lenten Services
• Selling of Cards and Napkins as a Mission Project.
• Partnering with the Little Sprouts Daycare, church representation on the board, collaboration  with the physical environment, and activities such as for Halloween Trunk & Treat.
• Partnering with the CMC Missions: spreading the Gospel in the US and abroad in Mexico, Belize, Haiti and through Operation REACH.

The core of our Christian faith as believers is a result of the following four (4) components:

1. Believers understanding of scripture
   Scripture is our primary source and standard for our Christian beliefs and doctrine.
2. Traditions
   Our traditions are based on generations being carried down and on biblical history.
3. Believers reasoning
   Reasoning allows individuals to understand the essential truths of scripture.
4. Believers’ life experience.
   This is the strongest proof of Christianity. We cannot have reasonable assurance of something unless we have experienced it personally. Because God always works for our good, we will have experiences to teach us how to live a life in holiness, peace, and love.

Community and Fellowship

To live as a Christian, our faith is always communal.

We meet to help each other live a holy life and to share our life journey regularly. Our Christian faith gives us a desire to share in worship, fellowship and learning about God. We desire to meet to be renewed in worship, fellowship, and faith. We will provide and promote places that support, encourage, and build spiritual maturity and joyful living as we seek to live holy lives. We do this through:

• Bible Study: Philippians and He Chose the Nails
• Family Fun Night
• Souper Bowl luncheon – donations towards missions
• Coffee Fellowship after the church service
• Praise in the Park
• It’s Mine Bingo
• Collaboration with Little Sprouts Daycare for Trunk or Treat with Wagon Rides
• Harvest Hayrides & Family Fun
• Welcoming Luncheon for New Attendees

Salvation is an ever-moving process allowing for personal transformation.

We believe in an “order” of salvation which is rooted in the existence and recognition of original sin and God’s response to it. Salvation from original sin begins with justification, continues in sanctification, and ends with glorification.

1. Justification: We obtain justification by first admitting to God that we have sinned. Justification can only be known by the individual’s faith. It is not earned. It is not something we do for ourselves but is something God does for us. When we repent before God, we become justified because Jesus lived, died, and resurrected for all humanity. We are freed from the grip of what we genuinely repent before God.
2. Sanctification: Because sin no longer rules over us, we become more and more alive to God, doing good works and deeds, and refraining from evil as we are growing more in faith to God.
3. The third and final step in salvation is glorification. We continue to move to be more like our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe in the Means of Grace; prevenient grace, justifying grace, sanctifying grace, and moving on to perfection.

This is an integrating conversion of Christian nurture and growth.

• Prevenient Grace: a conversion is prompted by prevenient grace.  We each receive Gods unearned favor before asking for forgiveness. We must first identify that we need God to forgive our sins. Once we genuinely ask God for forgiveness, we identify ourselves with God.
• Justifying Grace: After conversion is prompted by prevenient grace, we are next affected by justifying grace. God’s love pardons us, the repentant sinner and accepts us into God’s Family. It is marked by a real change in the heart of the believer. It is now knowing you are a Child of God.
• Sanctifying Grace: is a combination of justification and the assurance that we now recognize in our own mind and spirit because we personally are experiencing God’s presence and work that is being done inside.
• Moving on to Perfection: where the individual has a heart and mind filled with the love of God and Humankind. This love is ongoing, it expands and grows.

Be A Living Example

We are dedicated to each other to live disciplined Christian lives through study of the Bible, prayer, witnessing, and reaching out to Humanity. We are spirits that come from God and return to God. Our lives are to be a living example of Jesus Christ in the world; by loving, forgiving, showing mercy, serving, and any other Godly behaviors that produce a positive outcome. We are to bring people closer in Christian Community and in Relationship with Jesus the Christ.

Faith & Good Works

As children who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior, we insist that faith and good works belong together. We grow in faith through our participation in the church community. What we believe must be confirmed by what we do. We believe that Christian doctrine and Christian ethics are inseparable, that faith should inspire service.
